      Around 12 years ago I helped the present owner purchase this 175 acre sugar bush and for years I have told many people that this was the finest maple lot I had ever seen. And today nothing has changed except that the lines are in and it is ready for production. This is a “sap operation” only as there is no evaporator at this site. A local sugar maker purchases the concentrate and trucks it to his boiling operation and hopes that this will continue in the future. With 175 acres and +/- 7200 taps ready to go. There is a potential for an additional 800 to 1000 taps. This will be a “turn key” operation with equipment to be included in the sale. See equipment list under the documents section. There is a 30 X 40 sap house with upstairs living quarters for the sugar season. It has a 200 amp electrical service and drilled well and well established access roads. Included are wonderful mountain views of Vermont and New Hampshire and would make a wonderful location to build a home or homes for year round use! Certified Organic 2022. Producers are wise to develop their skills and experience at more modest tap #'s and consider expansion once they are certain high yields, syrup quality and viable markets are in place. Panelists agreed that part-time enterprises from 5,000-10,000 taps might be a good entry point for commercial operators, and that those businesses could position for additional growth if things go well.
