Along the Connecticut River and the New Hampshire border, the town of Maidstone is in the “Northeast Kingdom” region of Essex County, Vermont. Maidstone Lake and the adjoining Maidstone State Park help contribute to the fertile agricultural life within the town and offer several outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, and swimming. In the northern part of town, the Janice Peaslee Bridge crosses the Connecticut River and connects to Stratford, NH.
