Located in Addison County, Vermont’s first city of Vergennes was chartered in 1788. Vergennes proclaims itself as “America’s Smallest City” though it shares a lively downtown filled with unique shops, restaurants, and more. With the eclectic blend of city elements with the cozy feel of a small town, Vergennes is home to a historic Opera House built in 1897 that still hosts events year-round.
